Teen assaulted, robbed Friday morning in downtown Towson

An 18-year-old man was punched in the face and robbed of his iPhone while walking in downtown Towson early Friday morning, according to Baltimore County Police.

Cpl. Cathy Batton, a police spokeswoman, said the man was walking at the corner of York Road and Burke Avenue in Towson between 3:45 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 23 when two men assaulted him.

β€œ[The victim] said two suspects approached him as he walked down the street while he was looking at his phone,” Batton said. β€œOne of the suspects punched him, and they fled after stealing his cell phone.”

Batton said the incident was not reported until 1:11 p.m. Friday.

According to police, the man described the robbers as two black men with dark complexions, both around 5 feet 8. One man had short hair, a muscular build and wore a white T-shirt, while the second man had a slim build, long braided hair in a ponytail, and wore a purple shirt.
