Teen assaulted, robbed Friday morning in downtown Towson

An 18-year-old man was punched in the face and robbed of his iPhone while walking in downtown Towson early Friday morning, according to Baltimore County Police.

Cpl. Cathy Batton, a police spokeswoman, said the man was walking at the corner of York Road and Burke Avenue in Towson between 3:45 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 23 when two men assaulted him.

“[The victim] said two suspects approached him as he walked down the street while he was looking at his phone,” Batton said. “One of the suspects punched him, and they fled after stealing his cell phone.”

Batton said the incident was not reported until 1:11 p.m. Friday.

According to police, the man described the robbers as two black men with dark complexions, both around 5 feet 8. One man had short hair, a muscular build and wore a white T-shirt, while the second man had a slim build, long braided hair in a ponytail, and wore a purple shirt.
