Towson Crime Log: Man assaulted while trying to stop theft of gasoline

Baltimore County Police report that last week a man tried to steal gas at an Exxon station on East Joppa Road, and "pistol whipped" a man who tried to stop him.

The incident occurred in the.200 block of East Joppa between 2 and 2:10 p.m. on Nov. 24.

According to police reports, a man in Gold Oldsmobile disabled gas pump at the station in attempt to steal gas. Another man tried to stop him and was "pistol whipped," according to police. It was not clear if the victim was an employee of the station.

York Road, 6300 block, at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 25. Wallet and cash stolen. Victim was attacked by three men while walking through alley.

Margarette Avenue, 1300 block, between 9 a.m. Nov. 23 and 3:29 p.m. Nov. 25. Unsuccessful attempt to pry open rear patio door.

Dunkirk Road, 700 block, between 2:30 p.m. Nov. 23 and 3:08 p.m. Nov. 25. Silver coin collection stolen. Door was forced open.

West Wind Road, 300 block, between 4:30 p.m. Nov. 23 and 10 a.m. Nov. 24. House under construction was vandalized. Paint was poured on oak steps, window, crown molding.

Murdock Road, 400 block, between 9 p.m. Nov. 23 and 12 p.m. Nov. 24. Attempt to steal Dodge Caravan was unsuccessful.

Riderwood Station, unit block, between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Nov. 20. Gold pocket watch stolen. Entry gained through unlocked door.

Dalhousie Court, 1800 block, between 10 p.m. Nov. 20 and 7:30 a.m. Nov. 21. Change stolen from laundry room. Also gas lines cut, washing machines flipped over.

Coburg Court, 1800 block, between 10 p.m. Nov. 20 and 7:30 a.m. Nov. 21. Change stolen from laundry room. Also gas lines cut, washing machines flipped over.


Deereco Road, 9600 block, at 1:20 a.m. Nov. 18. Front door of Ricardo's Gems and Jewelry smashed. No entry due to armored foyer door.


Cinder Road, 100 block, between 8 p.m. Nov. 21 and 3 p.m. Nov. 24. Jewelry, laptop, money and watch stolen. Rear garage door opened, main circuit breaker to house turned off and door to house pried open.

Wendslow Road, unit block, between 11:20 p.m. and 11:36 p.m. Nov. 23. Rear door forced open; alarm sounded. Unknown if anything missing.

Evans Avenue, unit block, between 11 a.m. and 11:18 p.m. Nov. 23. Homeowner heard noises and found rear window had been tampered with. Items inside disturbed, but nothing missing.

Tally Ho Road, 8400 block, between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Nov. 21. Silverware and jewelry stolen. Entry by forcing rear basement door.

Railroad Avenue, 1400 block, between 6:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Nov. 21. Thirty feet of copper pipe stolen from basement.

Dunellen Drive, 900 block, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. Nov. 20. Jewelry stolen. Entry through unlocked side door.

Franke Avenue, 1400 block, between 1 p.m. Nov. 17 and 11:30 a.m. Nov. 18. Jewelry boxes and dresser drawers disturbed, but unknown if anything missing. Basement door kicked open.
