Baltimore County Police say a homeowner was duped into going into his basement by a man claiming to be with the "water company," and while they talked, an accomplish made off with valuables.

The incident occured in the 2100 block Suburban Green Drive, in Timonium, between noon and 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 24.

Police say a jewelry and cash were taken in the incident. While the homeowner was distracted by the man claiming to be with a utility company, it's believed an accomplice stole the items.

Towson

Goucher Boulevard, 500 block, between 10:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Sept. 27. Rear glass door broken. Diamond ring and black bag stolen. Bedroom ransacked.

Dulaney Valley Road, 1200 block, between 11:15 a.m. Sept. 27 and 11:15 a.m. Sept. 28. Screen removed from front window, but no entry.

Lochlan Circle, 6900 block, at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 25. Watch, iPad, computer hard drive, laptop, backpack, 15 video games, headphones, video camera, charging cables, iPod, hat and toolbox stolen. Police said Michael Eugene McKay, 28, and Taylor Terrelli Miller, 36, arrested at the scene and charged with first degree burglary. Entry was through the front door.

Dulaney Valley Court, 900 block, at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 24. Man entered apartment through unlocked window. Jose Cardona, 38, was arrested at the scene.

Regester Avenue, 300 block, 3:35 p.m. Sept. 24. Silver Mongoose BMX bike stolen from porch.

Margarette Avenue, 1400 block, between 1 p.m. Sept. 21 and 6 p.m. Sept. 24. Jewelry stolen. Unknown means of entry.

North Charles Street, 6500 block, between 3 p.m. Sept. 21 and 11 a.m. Sept. 22. Backhoe scoop stolen from construction zone at Sheppard Pratt.

Timonium

Harcroft Road, 2300 block, between 6:30 p.m. Sept. 25 and 6 p.m. Sept. 27. Lawn mower stolen from shed after lock removed.
