Towson man charged with hitting officer with guitar [Crime Log]

A man hit a police officer in the head with a guitar when the officer tried to apprehend the man after witnesses saw the man hitting vehicles with the guitar and a skateboard in Towson, a police report states.

The man was allegedly observed hitting the vehicles in the 1700 block of Edgewood Road in Towson at about noon on April 25.

David Ritchiek, 21, of 1700 block of Edgewood Road in Towson, was arrested and charged with first-degree assault, according to police.

Towsontown Boulevard and York Road, at 12:34 p.m. April 26. iPhone stolen. Juvenile apprehended on Towson University's campus.

Sibley Road, 900 block, between 5 p.m. and 11:46 p.m. April 26. No items stolen after forced entry through window.

Shelley Road, 900 block, between 5:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. April 26. Silverware, coin collection, two TVs stolen after access to house gained by stacking lawn chairs to second-floor window.

Overbrook Road, 400 block, between 7 a.m. and 4:50 p.m. April 26. TV, DVD player, jewelry stolen after access to house gained by climbing awning and cutting window screen.

Joppa Road, 300 block, at 9:10 p.m. April 25. Fire inside vehicle in parking garage occurred; ruled suspicious.

Lambourne Road, unit block, at 8:30 p.m. April 23. TV stolen after access to apartment gained through patio door.

Glenbarr Court, 6600 block, between 5:15 a.m. and 3:40 p.m. April 22. Door showed signs of forced entry, but no entry made.

Cockeysville

York Road, 11200 block, at 12:14 a.m. April 23. Man entered 7-Eleven armed with black handgun, demanded cash. After getting cash, robber fled.

Limestone Valley Drive, unit block between 9:27 p.m. April 23. Woman broke into apartment while resident was home. Shawniqua Slater, 20, arrested and charged with fourth-degree burglary.

East Padonia Road, 200 block, between 11:15 a.m. and 11:34 a.m. April 22. Fire set by igniting toilet paper in bathroom of Dulaney High School.

Pinebark Court, unit block, between 7 a.m. April 17 and 6 p.m. April 25. Two mountain bikes stolen from porch. One bike recovered.
