Baltimore County Police have identified the child who was struck in the 6400 block of York Road at Overbrook Road on April 11 as 12-year-old Saphal Bhandari of the 6300 block of Holly Lane in Towson.

Police spokeswoman Julia Hardgrove said on April 11 that the department was notified of the accident at 3:14 p.m. Friday, while Cpl. John Wachter tweeted from the department's Twitter account that the child had been hit.

Traffic in the area, which is just north of the city-county line, was restricted to one lane earlier that afternoon for construction. Police did not say whether traffic was further restricted because of the accident.

No charges have been filed as yet, police said.

Police aid that when the Baltimore County Crash Team completes its report of a crash, that report is sent to the Baltimore County States Attorney's Office. The States Attorney's Office will review the report and decide if any charges will be brought.
