A meeting scheduled for Wednesday evening will be the first opportunity for county residents to provide input and suggestions on the Baltimore County Public Schools capital budget for fiscal year 2015.
"This is what they would like to see, whether it be air conditioning or new construction," Board of Education Administrative Assistant Brenda Stiffler said.
The annual meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in Room 114 of the ESS Building at BCPS' Greenwood Campus. Public comment registration begins at 6 p.m., and written comments can also be submitted to the Board of Education by June 14.
This month, BCPS began the process of solving elementary school overcrowding in the York Road corridor and the southwest portion of Baltimore County. School officials said the time line for projects stemming from those efforts target September 2015 openings for potential new schools, meaning much of the funding would come in the FY 2015 capital budget.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
