Baltimore County closes schools Friday because of snow, wind chill

Baltimore County schools are closed Friday, Jan. 3, because of snow and below-freezing temperatures that are blanketing the region.

All evening activities in school, both school- and community-sponsored, are canceled as well. That includes all games and practices for high school sports.

Students had just returned to school from winter break on Thursday.

With wind chills in the single digits Friday morning, Baltimore County joins other districts in Maryland in canceling school. Baltimore County is under a wind advisory and a wind-chill advisory.
