Whitney Metzler

Now an attorney for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and a mother of three, Whitney Metzler was looking for a new club team in her native York area when her parents suggested NBAC.
“I did a tryout for Murray, and he was a little scary,” she recalled. “I think everyone was a little nervous around him. But he’s been very influential in my life, especially now that I’m a parent and I remember a lot of the things he taught us.”
Instead of commuting from York, Metzler lived with Michael Phelps’ and fellow Olympian Beth Botsford’s families during the week.
“Michael was the obnoxious kid hanging around us in those days,” she said.
