A second man was charged this week in connection with the killing of a man found shot in an overturned car in Rodgers Forge last month, a slaying police believe stemmed from a dispute over laundry.
Charles Leroy Jackson Jr., 26, of Baltimore, was arrested Tuesday and charged with first degree murder in connection with the killing of Donte A. Stephens on July 17, Baltimore County police said. Police said he is held without bail in the Baltimore County Detention Center and court records for the case were unavailable online.
Police have previously charged Dante Antonio Woods, 22, of Baltimore, with first degree murder. Stephens was targeted in a drive-by shooting as he sat inside a silver Dodge, and after he was shot, he drove a short distance, ultimately flipping over the car, police said.
Three days before the shooting, charging documents in Woods' case say, Woods and Stephens argued when Woods brought his laundry to Stephens' house in the 100 block of Murdock Road to be washed. Woods became angry when Stephens would not allow him to do his laundry there.
Police said Jackson assisted with the "planning and execution" of Stephens' murder and was the driver of the drive-by shooting vehicle while Woods fired the shots.
