Man shot in Baltimore County robbery attempt

A man was assaulted in an attempted robbery as he sat in his car in Windsor Mill Friday night, with two suspects shooting him as he tried to drive away, Baltimore County police said.

The 54-year-old victim, who was able to drive to a hospital around 10:45 p.m., told police he was parked near Security Boulevard and Belmont Avenue to use his cell phone. Two men approached him, indicated that they would rob him and began assaulting him. As the victim drove away to flee, at least one gunshot came through the rear window of his car and struck him in the back, police said.

The victim was treated at a hospital and is expected to survive the injury, police said. The two suspects have not been apprehended and anyone with information is asked to call 410-307-2020.
