Congratulations to everyone involved with Perry Hall High School's 50th anniversary celebration on March 15 with a gala celebration at the Sheraton Baltimore North attended by more than 400 alumni and guests.
"I would like to thank the 50th Anniversary Committee for working so hard on such a wonderful yearlong celebration," said County Councilman David Marks, a graduate of the Class of 1991 and the first Perry Hall High School alumnus elected to the Baltimore County Council. "So many people helped, but I would like to especially thank Cindy Horn, Megan Doty, Ed Miller and Steve Arnold, and George Roberts from the high school administration. They really stepped up to the plate."
Other guests included Del. John Cluster and his wife Carla, a Gator graduate; Del. Eric Bromwell; and State Sen. Kathy Klausmeier and her husband John and daughter Krista.
The neighborhood is going to the dogs on March 29 and you are invited! The grand opening party for the new location of Canine Couture Pet Salon and Boutique in the Kingsville Plaza, will be fun for the entire family — dogs included! From 1 to 5 p.m. you can join Canine Couture for vendors, pet rescues with adoptable pets, discounts and special offers.
Ashley Aylward, owner of Canine Couture, said, "I wanted to open a place where dogs are comfortable and happy to be, so I can give them the true spa feeling for the day".
From now until the end of the grand opening, she is collecting donations for the Johns Hopkins Children's Unit. If you bring in a new toy, DVD, book or child's blanket to be distributed to the hospitalized children on Easter, you can get your dog's teeth brushed for free.
The store is at 11763 Belair Road (near the High's store) in Kingsville.
From Councilman David Marks: "The Perry Hall/White Marsh Business Association has received a $10,000 grant from Baltimore County to replace the street banners and plant and maintain landscaping in downtown Perry Hall. This area includes the properties in Perry Hall's commercial revitalization district between Blakeley Avenue and Minte Drive on Belair Road; between Seven Courts and the intersection at Joppa Road; and between Yvonne Avenue and the intersection at Ebenezer Road."
Thank you to Baltimore County, the business association and Councilman Marks, who authored the legislation that established the Perry Hall commercial revitalization district, which has qualified this area for grants and other benefits.
It must be spring! The animals returned to Chapel Hills Farm and Nursery, 4350 Chapel Road in Perry Hall, on March 22 and we're happy to have them back in the neighborhood. Make sure you stop by for a visit!
