Community chorus sings out for new members [Carney]

Anniversary congratulations to Beatrice and Rodney Hoban, of Parkville, who celebrated their 38th year of togetherness on Feb. 16.

Even though the Christmas season 2012 is now ancient history, let's catch up on a special holiday happening at the Parkville Senior Center

Bonnie Riehl, assistant director of the center, wants to thank all the members and the local business community for making the 2012 Holiday Adopt-a-Senior project a great success, touching the lives of four senior families in our area. The Parkville community made generous donations of gifts, fulfilling the wish lists of each family and providing them with a delicious holiday meal

Now we leave the senior center and go a couple of blocks north on Harford Road to preschool:

Linden Bridge Nursery School at 8814 Harford Road is now accepting registration for 3- and 4-year-olds for the 2013-14 school year. (Since my granddaughter Allison, now 12, was a Linden Bridge graduate, I can say that it is a warm and friendly place for little folks). Call 410-668-0230 for the scoop on registration.

The Community Chorus of Overlea and Perry Hall is a nonprofit organization that provides musical entertainment for residents of senior living facilitities throughout the Baltimore area from October through May, and new singers are always welcome.

Contact director Martha Requard, at 410-838-5256 or at mrequard She is the full-time vocal music teacher at Joppa View Elementary School, as well as organist-choir director at St. John's Lutheran on Harford Road just inside the Baltimore Beltway

Hourlong rehearsals are held on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. at Perry Hall United Methodist Church
