Catherine Webb, right, whose parents own the farm, chats with customer Katy Tolfree, left, of Sparks, while her daughter Nyala pats the store cat, Marie. After a legal battle that dragged on for almost 7 years, the Smith family, who have operated Springfield Farm for 300 years, recently won approval to build a roadside farm stand inside a barn on their property, off Yeoho Road. The sale of fresh eggs is about 70% of their business, but they also sell chicken. beef, pork, lamb and turkeys.
