Three injured, dog killed in Timonium car crash

Three people were hospitalized — two with life-threatening injuries — and a dog was killed Tuesday afternoon after a two-car crash in the area of York Road and Crowther Avenue in Timonium, Baltimore County Police said.

According to Cpl. John Wachter, a police spokesman, the crash occurred around 12:35 p.m. Tuesday. Wachter said a black Acura MDX was traveling south on York Road and a gold Chevy Venture was driving north on York Road, and the Chevy hit the Acura when it tried to cross York Road and turn left onto Crowther Avenue.

Wachter said initial reports indicated a person was ejected from one of the vehicles, but that investigators found that the person fell onto the road from the car after the crash.

A female that was in the Acura was taken to Sinai hospital, Wachter said. A male and female who were in the Chevy were taken to Shock Trauma, police said. Two sustained life-threatening injuries, and one suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries, police said.

The dog, which was riding in the Chevy, died from its injuries, Wachter said.
