See how firemen fought the third worst fire in U.S. history when you take the Great Baltimore Fire of 1904 Motor Coach Tour. Given during the 109th Anniversary Weekend on Feb. 10, from 1 to 4:15 p.m., the tour will travel through Baltimore's '"Burnt District." Historians Wayne Schaumburg and Stephen Heaver will lead the tour through the area where 86 downtown blocks and 1,500 buildings were destroyed in 30 hours. Congratulations to the winners of the Dulaney Valley Improvement Association Holiday Decorating Contest. Judges had a difficult time selecting from among all of the beautifully adorned and lighted homes throughout the neighborhood. Winners for daytime/doorway decorations were the Eubanks of 113 E.t Seminary Ave., first; the Dennoncourts of 115 Ridgefield Road, second; and the Britts of 125 Ridgefield Road., third. Taking honors for nighttime decorations were the Crusses of 1302 Charmuth Road., first; the Lopolitos of 117 Greenridge Ave., second, and the Houcks of 1205 Oak Croft Road., third. The winners received gift certificates compliments of the Peppermill Restaurant. The DVIA thanks Dave Jones and his staff for their very generous gift.
Towson High School Music Boosters are once again presenting Longaberger Basket Bingo for your enjoyment. This year's event is Feb. 15 at Tall Cedars of Lebanon, 2501 Putty Hill Ave. in Parkville. Come play 19 games of bingo for fabulous prizes and enjoy live music by the THS Jazz Ensemble and select a capella singers. In addition, there will be Vera Bradley, 50/50, and side raffles, along with food available for purchase. Net proceeds support Towson High School musical ensembles, including the marching band.
