We have some inspiring women in our Lutherville-Timonium community. Take for example, Edie Brown. To know Edie is to love her! I can attest to Edie's kind, energetic, and dynamic personality as I've had the honor of knowing her family and enjoying her company on the golf course for many years.
This public relations powerhouse from Mays Chapel has been the mastermind behind some of the biggest events in Baltimore for over 30 years. Her career began in 1983 as director of public relations for First Mariner Arena, now the Baltimore Arena. After reading Edie's curriculum vitae, you will be amazed by the sheer volume of impressive clients and events she has promoted. Most notably, Edie continues to be the local public relations representative for Feld Entertainment, which runs two ice skating shows, two weeks of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, and two motor sport events at the arena. Edie also actively represents the Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric and About Faces Day Spa. In addition to her private consulting work, Edie puts her extensive knowledge and connections to work by volunteering on many community outreach and pro bono projects including Everyman Theatre, Visit Baltimore, the Torrey Smith Foundation, Cool Kids and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Edie has earned numerous awards such as Maryland's Top 100 Women and the Top 20 Most Powerful People, among many others. We are fortunate to call this mover-and-shaker one of our neighbors!
On Saturday, March 1, proud parents and their daughters gathered for the basketball shootout finals at Ridgely Middle School. After several rounds of competition, the finalists competed to see who could get the most points in one minute of shooting. Congratulations to the winner of the 9-10 age group, Chiara Menegatti, 10, of Lutherville Laboratory Elementary and runnerup, Grace Black, also 10, of St. Paul's School for Girls.
Dr. Shari Kohn, a Lutherville resident and prominent pediatric dentist is pleased to announce the addition of her newest associate, Dr. Liz Prada, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Dental School. Dr. Kohn currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentists and encourages patients to bring their children for their first dental checkup at the age of 1, a change from former guidelines.
Let's keep the conversation going and email me at email@example.com. I want to know what you're up to this spring. Nothing is too small: Tell me about your lacrosse team, spring break trip, fashion shopping tips, professional accomplishments.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
