Armed robber beats attendant then flees Timonium gas station with cash [Crime Log]

The following is compiled from police reports from the Towson and Cockeysville precincts. Our policy is to include descriptions when there is enough information to make identification possible.

A man armed with a pistol entered the BP gas station in the 1600 block of York Road on Jan. 17 at about 4:30 p.m. and demanded cash. After hitting the attendant with his pistol, the robber stole cash from the register and fled.


Delaware Avenue and Shealy Avenue, at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 12. Man stole black iPhone from pedestrian.

Beaverbank Circle, 900 block, between Jan. 11 and Jan. 12. White Nissan Sentra, Maryland registration number 9FDP01, stolen.

Falls Road, 6000 block, at 4:10 a.m. Jan. 7. Two men robbed Royal Farms clerk at knifepoint, destroyed surveillance equipment and stole cash, cigarettes.

Chestnut Oak Road, 8500 block, between 1:55 p.m. and 2 p.m. Jan. 7. Man was found sleeping on floor of storage space. Antonio Shawnelle Woods, 34, charged with second-degree burglary.

Loch Raven Boulevard, 8700 block, between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. Jan. 20. Dodge Caravan stolen from Days Inn parking lot.

Loch Bend Drive, 8700 block, between 10 a.m. and 10:35 a.m. Jan. 18. A man punched and choked female acquaintance until she blacked out. Joseph Milchail Scarpone, 23, of the unit block of Messina Circle, Methuen, Mass., arrested and charged with first-degree assault.

Altamont Place, 6000 block, between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. Jan. 17. Gold 2005 Toyota 4Runner stolen. Car left unlocked with key in console.

Acorn Hill Lane, unit block, between 2 p.m. Jan. 16 and 3 p.m. Jan. 18. Liquor stolen after entry gained by breaking window of garage.

Hollins Avenue, unit block, between 5 p.m. Jan. 16 and 6 a.m. Jan. 17. Three bicycles stolen from open shed.

Loch Raven Boulevard, 6800 block, at 3:51 a.m. Jan. 14. Front window of Wireless 1 Outlet smashed with brick.


Greenmeadow Drive, unit block, between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Jan. 11. Burglar smashed multiple cars' windows, stole cellphones, purses from vehicles.

York Road, 1700 block, between 1 a.m. and 1:36 a.m. Jan. 11. Rock thrown through window of AT&T store to gain entry. Two cellphones and Samsung Galaxy tablet stolen.

Timonium Road, 300 block, between 2:15 Jan. 7 and 12 a.m. Jan. 8. Basement window smashed; cash, jewelry and coins stolen.

Forest Ridge Court, unit block, between 3 p.m. Jan. 7 and 1:30 p.m. Jan. 9. Basement ransacked.

Bellona Avenue, 1400 block, at 3 p.m. Jan. 6. Rear window screen cut. No entry gained.

Lincoln Avenue, 200 block Lutherville, between 8:45 a.m. and 11:25 p.m. Jan. 16. Cash stolen after kitchen window broken to gain entry.

York Road, 1400 block, between 8:15 p.m. Jan. 16 and 8:30 a.m. Jan. 17. Cash stolen after entry gained through unlocked door.

Westford Road, 8500 block, between 5 p.m. Jan. 15 and 6 a.m. Jan. 16. Wire stolen from construction site.

Quaker Ridge Road, 200 block, between 12 p.m. Jan. 14 and 2:01 p.m. Jan. 17. Rear basement window broken.

Burton Avenue, 1400 block, between 3 p.m. Oct. 1 and 2:30 p.m. Jan. 16. Three rolls of copper wire stolen.


York Road, 11000 block, between 12:17 a.m. and 8 a.m. Jan. 10. Rear door of Arby's forced open; food stolen.

Cuba Road, 14500 block, at 10:54 a.m. Jan. 7. Man in large, dark-colored four-door sedan disabled alarm, broke glass surrounding front door, entered home and stole jewelry, Dell laptop, Xbox 360 and 25 games.

Hemlock Court, unit block, between 3 p.m. Jan. 18 and 10 a.m. Jan. 19. Unlocked car ransacked. No items taken.
