A man changing a trailer tire at Sparrows Point was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center after Baltimore County fire officials said the tire blew out and struck him in the head.
Officials were called at 11:43 a.m. to the facility for an injured subject. He was flown to the hospital by state police helicopter with life threatening injuries, officials said.
Police spokesman Cpl. John Wachter said that man was in the middle of the facility, but could not confirm if he was a worker.
No other injuries were reported.
Last month, a man was injured when he was hit by a piece of steel, and in May, nine asbestos-removal workers were injured when the roof of a building collapsed on them.
