Police investigate homicide of elderly Lansdowne man

Homicide detectives continue to search for suspects in the killing of an 80-year-old Lansdowne man last week.

Willard Dimitri Rykowski, 80, was found dead in his home at the 300 block of Third Avenue in Lansdowne, according to a statement released by the Baltimore County Police.

Rykowski was found by police on the floor of his home suffering from stab wounds on April 22 at 3:27 p.m., police said.

Police went to the home to check on Rykowski when a 911 caller said they hadn't had any contact with him in a week, police said.

Rykowski was last seen at the 8 a.m. mass at St. Clement's Catholic Church on Washington Avenue April 21, police said.

Police said detectives have few leads on the case and are asking the public for help.
