Baltimore County Police are investigating a shooting that occurred shortly after 10 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of Winters Lane.
At 10:11 p.m., police responded to a call for a shooting in the unit block of Shipley Avenue.
"The victim was actually shot in the 100 block of Winters Lane," police spokesman Cpl. John Wachter said Tuesday. "We got the call for Shipley Avenue in the unit block but that's actually where the guy ran to.
"He [the man who was shot] was involved in some sort of altercation with the suspect and at some point during that altercation [the suspect] produces a weapon, starts firing, and then flees the scene," Wachter said.
Though his exact condition is unknown, Wachter said the man is expected to survive his injuries.
"The guy is still alive, he's in an area hospital," Wachter said. "It's not going to turn into a homicide, he's going to be OK."
The shooting on Winters Lane occurred just two days after another shooting on Aug. 17 on Edmondson Avenue.
Two men were standing together in front of the Shell gas station in the 5300 block, a short distance from the city-county border when they were shot, according to police.
Wachter said the Saturday and Monday incidents are not related.
"The detectives that I spoke with said they believe it's an isolated incident [on Winters Lane] and there's no danger to the public," he said.
"There's no evidence to indicate that these two incidents are linked," Wachter said. "It just so happened that these two happened in the same area”
Wachter said Tuesday that police still have no leads on the Edmondson Avenue shooting and are asking anyone with information to please call 410-307-2020.
