Stolen Baltimore City police car recovered in Catonsville

An unmarked Baltimore City Police vehicle reported stolen on the morning of April 11 was recovered at 6 p.m. the same day, according to a statement issued by Baltimore County Police on April 14.

A Baltimore police officer reported the car stolen to Baltimore County Police at 6:41 a.m. on Friday, county police said.

The officer said his unmarked 2014 silver Chevrolet Impala had been parked in the 300 block of Orley Road in Catonsville on April 10 at 10:30 p.m. and was not there at 6:41 a.m. on April 11, police said.

Baltimore County listed items in the vehicle at the time of theft as: a police Taser, a police radio, three bags containing miscellaneous police equipment, two magazines containing 28 rounds of .40 caliber ammunition, mace, a police soft vest, a police riot helmet and a SWAT vest.

None of the items were missing from the car when it was found, police said.

According to police, no firearms or explosives were in the vehicle.

The Regional Auto Theft Task Force is conducting a follow-up investigation into the incident.
