A 17-year-old girl died after being struck by a car on Route 40 in Catonsville Sunday night, according to Baltimore County police.
Police said Sahara Malishan was walking in a travel lane of the 6400 block of Baltimore National Pike when she was hit by a 2013 Mazda 6 traveling eastbound at 10:23 p.m.
Malishan, of the 900 block of Wildwood Parkway in Baltimore, was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where she was pronounced dead.
A 62-year-old male driver remained at the scene, police said.
The accident is under investigation, according to police.
