Baltimore County police identified the officer who exchanged gunfire with a Parkville man while responding to a domestic call Saturday night.
The department on Tuesday identified him as Officer Rogers, an 18-year veteran of the Baltimore County Police Department, who is assigned to the Support Operations Division. A police union agreement prevents Baltimore County from providing officers' first names.
Police were called at 10:45 p.m. June 7 to a home in the 2900 block of Manns Ave. by a woman who said her husband was suicidal.
When officers arrived, they were confronted by 39-year-old Michael Tindall Jr. who was armed with a handgun and refused to drop the gun, police said.
Tindall and Rogers fired, and Tindall was struck, police said. He remains hospitalized. The officer was not injured.
The shooting remains under investigation.
