Maryvale Preparatory School, an all-girls Catholic school in Brooklandville, named Tracey Ford its president on Thursday. She will become the first lay leader in the school's 66-year history on July 1.
Ford, 56, currently director of development at Towson University, will replace Sister Shawn Marie Maguire, a member of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, who is retiring after overseeing the school since 1981.
A graduate of the University of Virginia, who holds a master of administrative science from Johns Hopkins' Carey Business School, Ford brings 25 years of experience in education to her new job. She also has worked with in other all girl-enrollment schools, including staff positions at St. Paul's School for Girls and Notre Dame Preparatory School, her own alma mater, and even had a brief stint as a trustee at Maryvale.
