Police charge man in robberies of Goodwill discount stores

Baltimore County police say they have charged a former Goodwill employee with robbing three of the discount stores in November.

Richard C. Pettaway, 29, of the 2000-block of Ramblewood Road in North Baltimore, was charged with five counts of armed robbery and three counts of using a handgun in the commission of a crime. Police say Pettaway was involved in robberies on Nov. 11 and Nov. 16 at the Goodwill store at 1753 E. Joppa Road and on Nov. 18 at the store at 200 W. Padonia Road, where police said he had worked.

Police say the investigation continues. Pettaway was being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center, police said.
