Joycelyn Lee Ward was born in Baltimore and raised in Rodgers Forge. She was a 1949 graduate of Towson High School and Strayer's Business College.
She had worked for the Dairy Association of Maryland and, during the 1950s, was in sales for Monumental Insurance Co.
From the 1970s until retiring in the 1990s, Mrs. Wallace was vice president of Wallace Insulation Inc.
The insulation company, in the city's Pimlico neighborhood, was owned and operated by her husband of nine years, David Wallace Jr., who died in 2001.
The former Lutherville resident had lived in Mays Chapel for many years. Since 2006, she had been a resident of Arden Courts, a Riderwood assisted-living facility.
Mrs. Wallace was an accomplished needleworker and enjoyed collecting Rowe Pottery. She had been a member of the Baltimore Country Club.
No services are scheduled.
Surviving are a stepdaughter, Suzanne W. Rawlings of Mays Chapel; and two nieces. An earlier marriage to Tom Flynn ended in divorce.
