A 59-year-old woman who is accused of killing her estranged husband two months ago at the home they had shared in Glen Arm will go on trial Dec. 14. Mary C. Koontz, who has been in custody since her husband's June 19 killing, was arraigned Wednesday before Baltimore County Circuit Judge Thomas J. Bollinger Sr., who will preside over her trial. She faces seven charges, including first-degree murder, in the shooting of Ronald G. Koontz, 66, a former teacher and wrestling coach at Towson High School who later became an administrator in the Baltimore County school system. The couple had a teenage daughter. Police said Mary Koontz moved to Florida after her husband obtained a court order in November 2007 forcing her to be evaluated for mental illness. She returned in June, gained access to the Glen Arm house and shot him numerous times, police said.
