Among the 52 calls for medical and fire-rescue service received by the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department during the period Aug. 18-25 were the following:
Interstate 195 between exits 3 and 4, 11:16 p.m. Aug. 21. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Halethorpe and Westview career stations responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident involving a tractor trailer on the interstate in the Arbutus area. A large fuel spill was contained. One person with non-life-threatening injuries taken to a local hospital.
1201 South Rolling Road, Patapsco Valley State Park, 3:44 p.m. Aug. 20. Crews responded to the report of an injured person at the state park in the Relay area. One seriously injured person extricated from the trail and taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Winters Lane, unit block, 1:13 a.m. Aug. 20. Crews from the Arbutus, English Consul, Lansdowne, Owings Mills, Pikesville, Reisterstown and Violetville volunteer stations and Catonsville, Halethorpe, Randallstown, Westview and Woodlawn career stations responded to the report of a dwelling fire in the Catonsville community of Winters Lane. A third-alarm dwelling fire was extinguished. One seriously injured person taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Burn Center.
Edmondson Avenue, 6100 block, 11:07 a.m. Aug. 19. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Brooklandville, Catonsville and Westview career stations responded to the report of a hazardous material leak in Catonsville and found a demolition crew had struck an ammonia pipeline. The pipe was clamped and scene secured for Maryland Department of the Environment to clean up remaining hazards.
1015 Leeds Avenue, 1:27 p.m. Aug. 18. A involving a building collapse was made. Crews responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident and found a vehicle had struck the entrance of the Double Dragon Restaurant in Arbutus. No injuries reported.
