The Church of the Ascension Men's Club dishes up Lenten Friday seafood feasts on April 4 and 11, 5-7 p.m., in Brewer Hall, 4601 Maple Ave. Fried fish, shrimp, oysters, stewed tomatoes, slaw, macaroni and cheese, dessert and hot drinks costs $10 for adults or carryouts and $8 for those under 12. Younger children have the choice of grilled cheese sandwiches, too.

• Sunday, April 13: Members gather on Lansdowne Christian's patio at 9:30 a.m. to receive palms, then process through quiet Lansdowne streets, waving them high.
The annual Good Friday ecumenical service, sponsored by the Greater Arbutus Ministerium, is set for April 18, noon to 2 p.m. in Violetville United Methodist Church. Scriptural reference will be Jesus' last words. Choirs, instrumentalists, clergy, soloists, interpreters, liturgists, all bring the message.
