A Westminster man was arrested and charged with first- and second-degree assault for allegedly pointing a gun at a woman during an apparent road rage incident in Arbutus on June 18, according to Maryland court records.
Derrick James Jackson, of the 500 block of Poplar Avenue, was arrested by Baltimore County police on June 19 and was released on $50,000 bail, court records show.
On June 18, at approximately 4:33 p.m., a police supervisor was flagged down by a woman at Linden Avenue and Leeds Avenue in Arbutus, Baltimore County police said.
The woman said that she had been driving on Interstate 695 near Washington Boulevard when she changed lanes and cut off a gold Chevrolet Tahoe, police said.
The driver of the Tahoe followed her and pulled up next to her vehicle at a traffic light on Washington Boulevard, police said.
An argument ensued between both drivers and during the argument, the man driving the Tahoe said, "I will blow your head off" and pointed a handgun at her, police said.
Police said officers located the man in Baltimore City and he was taken into custody.
