Two injured in rowhouse fire in Pigtown

Two people suffered minor burns in a rowhouse fire in Pigtown early Thursday morning, according to the Baltimore Fire Department.

Firefighters were dispatched to the 1300 block of W. Cross Street, in the city's Washington Village-Pigtown neighborhood, about 2:25 a.m. and found the home in flames, according to Ian Brennan, a department spokesman.

The two injured civilians were both transported to the burn unit at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for treatment, Brennan said.

One victim is a 66-year-old woman; the second is 37-years-old, but Brennan said he did not know if it was a man or woman.

No other injuries were reported.
