Train car derails in South Baltimore

Baltimore fire crews responded to South Baltimore Thursday morning, where a train car derailed.

Baltimore fire crews are on the scene of a train derailment in an industrial area of South Baltimore.

Crews responded Thursday morning to the 2600 block of Cannery Avenue near Wagner's Point in the Fairfield Area.

Baltimore's office of emergency management said the train car struck a building, but CSX spokesman Rob Doolittle said a single car derailed, but did not strike anything.

"Two wheels are off the track and the car is sitting upright. It is carrying hazardous materials but there are no leaks or spills," said Doolittle. "The car is in line and there are no injuries."
