Baltimore fire officials on Wednesday identified three people who died in a house fire in Curtis Bay over the weekend, but said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The home, in the 4100 block of Grace Court, caught fire early Saturday morning, and a woman, whom neighbors said was the mother of the two children who died, was able to jump to the ground from the home's second floor but was seriously injured. Neighbors said the family's father died trying to save his girlfriend and their children.
The victims were identified as Steve Henderson, 23; Aniya Burnside, a few weeks shy of her 5th birthday; and Avery Henderson, about 18 months. Fire officials also said that the home had no working smoke detectors and that the fire originated in the building's first floor kitchen. The victims were all found on the second floor.
