UPS driver held up at gunpoint in Roland Park

A gun-toting Grinch may have ruined Christmas for some Baltimoreans after police say packages were stolen from a UPS truck.

The stick-up happened at about 7 p.m. in the 5900 block of Roland Ave. in North Roland Park. Police said a man displayed a handgun and got away with an undisclosed number of packages. The delivery driver was uninjured and it's not immediately known what was taken.

Det. Jeremy Silbert, a police spokesman, said there were two suspects and they were driving a burgundy-colored Buick sedan.

Officers in the Northern District were contacting other delivery drivers in the area to alert them of the incident. "We want to ensure people out there delivering packages are safe," Silbert said.
