Fire broke out overnight at vacant Ramsay Street building

Baltimore firefighters responded to a fire in a vacant building on the 1400 block of Ramsay Street shortly after midnight Friday, the department said.

The blaze broke out at 12:12 a.m., with fire and smoke showing from the upper floor of the two-story building in in the New Southwest/Mount Clare neighborhood, according to department spokeswoman Blair Skinner.

Firefighters controlled the flames just before 1 a.m. There were no injuries, and the cause is under investigation.
