Several streets around the Inner Harbor will close from 3 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday for a helicopter lift to replace air conditioning units at Harborplace and The Gallery shopping center, city officials said.
Adrienne Barnes, spokeswoman for the city Department of Transportation, said detours will be in effect for the following areas: Lombard Street between Gay and Light streets, Calvert Street between Pratt and Lombard streets, Commerce Street between Water and Pratt streets and South Street between Water and Pratt streets.
The streets will be closed to motorists and pedestrians, Barnes said. Parking will also be restricted.
General Growth Properties applied for a permit to close the streets to allow a helicopter to pick up air conditioning units and place the units on the roof of the building, according to Cathy Powell, public information officer for the city Department of General Services.
