Woman stabbed to death Saturday in South Baltimore

A woman was stabbed to death in South Baltimore late Saturday, one of two homicides in the city that night, Baltimore police said.

Officers were called to the 1500 block of Marshall Street, just south of Fort Avenue near Riverside Park, at 11:42 p.m. for a report of a stabbing. They found a woman inside a home there, suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was transported to a local hospital, where she died, police said.

No other information was immediately available. Homicide detectives are investigating the case. Based on early information, police believe the woman was stabbed inside the home and that she knew her attacker, spokesman Det. Jeremy Silbert said.

Separately, two shootings were reported overnight, one of them fatal.

A man was pronounced dead at the scene of a shooting in the 1300 block of East Lafayette Avenue in Oliver earlier Saturday night. Police responded to the scene about 10:40 p.m. and found an unidentified man shot multiple times.

Police are also investigating a shooting in the 1600 block of East Madison street early Sunday morning. Police were called to the intersection of East Madison and North Bond streets in East Baltimore shortly after midnight and found a 30-year-old man shot multiple times, police said.

The man was in serious but stable condition at an area hospital, police said. Police did not identify him.
