A sinkhole opened up in Mount Vernon on Monday, prompting the city to close yet another road because of infrastructure reasons.
The sinkhole is in the 700 block of Cathedral St., Baltimore Department of Public Works officials said. Its cause is under investigation.
Cathedral Street will be blocked in between West Madison Street and West Mount Vernon Place through Tuesday morning rush hour, transportation officials said.
Other sinkholes have caused traffic problems in Mount Vernon and nearby this year, including on Centre Street and Mulberry Street.
