Two killed, one injured in Friday afternoon violence in Baltimore

Police investigating two shootings Friday afternoon in Northwest Baltimore.

Two men were killed and a third man was injured in three separate incidents of violence on Friday afternoon in Baltimore, police said.

Around 1 p.m., officers patrolling near Chelsea Terrace and Bonner Road heard gunfire and canvassed the area. They found a 24-year-old man who had been shot in the 3000 block of Chelsea Terrace. The man was pronounced dead at a local hospital, police said.

Less than an hour later, officers were called to a shooting in the 5400 block of Jonquil Avenue in the Arlington community. They found a 33-year-old man with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the torso, police said. He was taken to a local hospital.

Then, about 2:45 p.m., officers responded to the 1400 block of Aisquith St. in the Oliver neighborhood of East Baltimore for a report of a cutting and found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds in the back, police said. The man was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said the victim had been in a "verbal altercation" with a suspect when the suspect stabbed him. The suspect was in police custody but had not been charged in the incident as of Friday night, police said.

None of the victims have been publicly identified.
