City officers are investigating the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old man in North Baltimore, police said Saturday.
Police responded to the 1400 block of Stonewood Road for a report of a shooting at 11:18 p.m. Friday and found the man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head, according to Det. Jeremy Silbert, a Baltimore Police spokesman.
The victim, who has not been identified, was transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital where he died at 12:07 a.m. Saturday, police said.
Detectives believe that the victim was involved in an altercation with two other men, Silbert said. During the altercation, the victim was shot in the head. The suspects then fled from the location in a vehicle, police said.
Another 20-year-old man suffered a nonfatal gunshot wound to his head at 9:25 a.m. Saturday. The victim told police he was walking 1600 block of Aisquith Street, about two blocks from Green Mount Cemetery in the Oliver neighborhood, when an unknown individual shot him and then fled on foot, Silbert said. The man was taken to a local hospital for non life-threatening injures
