Three men were killed in a spate of shootings in Baltimore this weekend.
On Sunday night, officers were called just before 7 p.m. to the 3100 block of Artaban Place in Northwest Baltimore's Hanlon-Longwood community, where a man was found inside a residence suffering from a gunshot wound in the torso.
Police identified the victim as Lawrence M. Thomas Jr., 26, who lived in the block. He was taken to Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police believe the shooting might have resulted from a possible drug transaction, with detectives being told that a group of unknown suspects entered the home looking for drugs and money.
About two hours later, police were called to a shooting at 1900 W. Fayette Street, where an 18-year-old man was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds outside of a residence. He is in stable condition.
Early Sunday morning, police responded to three nonfatal shootings within six minutes.
Officers responded at 3:10 a.m. to a Northwest Baltimore hospital, where a 24-year-old man walked in after he was shot in the back. The man told investigators that he was shot in the 2800 block of Edgecombe Circle South.
Two minutes later, officers responded to the 2800 block of Roslyn Avenue, where they found a 23-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his arm.
At 3:16 a.m., officers were called to an East Baltimore hospital, where a 21-year-old man walked in after being shot in the arm. The man said he was shot in the 2300 block of Evergreen Street.
As of Sunday, 187 people have been killed in Baltimore, up about 6 percent compared with this time last year.
On Saturday, police said Erwin Daniels, 30, was fatally shot in the 600 block of N. Lakewood Avenue. He was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Saturday afternoon, Terrence Seale, 29, was fatally shot in the 1200 block of Linworth Avenue inside an apartment. Police said two men were seen fleeing.
