Two people were killed and another was shot and stabbed in Baltimore Thursday night, police said.
A 28-year-old man was shot to death in a trash-strewn alley in Poppleton, near the 1100 block of W. Saratoga St. about 4:21 p.m., police said. The victim was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he died.
The 344th and final homicide of 2015 happened on New Year's Eve about five blocks away in the same neighborhood, in the first block of N. Poppleton St., police said.
Later Thursday night, a man was shot to death in the 5900 block of Winthrope Ave. in Northeast Baltimore's Glenham-Belhar neighborhood, police said.
The police department has not identified the victims in any of the above killings, and no suspect descriptions or motives were released.
Thursday night's homicides were the city's third and fourth of 2016.
Also, on the east side, a man was shot and stabbed near the corner of Barclay Street and Pitman Place in Greenmount West, police said. His condition was not immediately released.
