A Baltimore City police officer was taken to a local hospital for smoke inhalation after he attempted to alert residents about a two-alarm fire in the Bolton Hill neighborhood Saturday afternoon.
Fire department spokesman Capt. Roman Clark said the officer suffered minor injuries. He was treated at the scene and transported to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
The blaze in the 1800 block of Eutaw Place began around 2:30 p.m. and was placed under control about two hours later, he said. No other firefighters or residents were injured.
At about 10 p.m. Friday night, a Baltimore County firefighter was taken to a local hospital for an ankle injury and one resident treated for chest pains, after a two-alarm electrical fire broke out in the attic of apartment building on 1st Avenue in Lansdowne, county fire officials said.
The building was evacuated and 27 residents were displaced. The fire was placed under control at 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
