A 31-year-old man died after he was shot in the chest early Saturday morning, and six other people were wounded in three separate overnight incidents, Baltimore Police said.

Officers were called to the 4800 block of Bowland Avenue in the Frankford neighborhood of Northeast Baltimore at 2:40 a.m. Saturday, where they found a victim with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center where he died, according to police.

A short time later, two additional victims were located at area hospitals suffering from gunshot wounds, police said. Detectives believe the victims were also shot in the 4800 block of Bowland Avenue.

Police are also investigating a shooting that occurred just after 11:30 p.m. Friday in the 500 block of W. Hoffman Street, between Druid Hill and Madison avenues. Three men were approached by an unknown suspect who fired at them and then fled, police said.

All three men were taken to local hospitals with non life-threatening injuries, police said.

Officers also responded to the 2600 E. Preston Street at 10:44 p.m. Friday, where a 15-year-old girl was suffering from a gunshot wound to her knee.

She told police she was accidentally shot, but detectives are continuing to investigate the incident. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said.

Anyone with information on the homicide is urged to contact police at 410-396-2100.
