Mattress store catches fire in Southwest Baltimore

A mattress store in Southwest Baltimore caught fire before dawn Thursday, the Baltimore Fire Department said.

Firefighters were dispatched to Bed-To-Go, at the corner of West Pratt and South Pulaski streets, about 1:20 a.m., and arrived to find heavy fire showing through the roof of the building, Fire Department spokeswoman Blair Skinner said.

The fire took about a half-hour to put out, Skinner said. No one was injured, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Phone calls to the property owner listed in state tax records and the number listed on the side of the business went unanswered.
