Homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman Friday evening in the Belair-Edison neighborhood of Northeast Baltimore, police said.
The woman was shot at 6:20 p.m. in the 2600 block of Kentucky Ave., Baltimore police said in a statement. Officers were called to a home on a report of a gunshot, and went inside to check on the occupants. Police said they found an adult woman dead from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
Police have no word on suspects or motive; they have asked anyone with information to contact them at 410-396-2100.
The department also reported a non-fatal shooting in Northeast Baltimore late Friday. Officers were called to the 2000 block of Hillenwood Road for a reported shooting. They found a 28-year-old man at the entrance of a home who had been shot multiple times. Police said the shooting may have taken place in the 1900 block of Hillendale Road.
Police said they had no information about a suspect or motive, and asked residents with information to call Baltimore Police Northeast District shooting detectives at 410-396-2444.
