Howard Park resident severely burned in house fire

A 50-year-old man was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma with life-threatening burn injuries Thursday night from a fire at a home in Baltimore's Howard Park neighborhood.

A second victim, a 74-year-old woman, was taken to an area hospital from the house in the 5300 block of Gwynn Oak Ave. with non-life-threatening injuries to her hand, Baltimore Fire Department spokesman Ian Brennan said.

The fire's cause was under investigation Thursday night, Brennan said.
