The injuries were not considered serious, said Capt. Roman Clark, a fire department spokesman.
Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for second-degree burns, and a second firefighter was also later transported there, they said.
Clark said the first firefighter was treated and released, and as of about noon the second firefighter was receiving treatment.
The injuries come after four firefighters were injured extinguishing a fire in the 400 block of S. Fulton Ave. Two people died in that fire, and authorities said they were continuing to work to confirm the identities of the victims.
