A firefighter sustained a minor knee injury in a two-alarm blaze at a home in Southeast Baltimore early Thursday morning, according to the Baltimore Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to the 3700 block of East Pratt Street — near the border of the city's Highlandtown and Baltimore Highlands neighborhoods — about 12:20 a.m. and began fighting the fire, which had extended to an adjacent vacant home and another occupied home, said Captain Roman Clark, a department spokesman.
All residents of both occupied homes were able to escape unharmed, Clark said.
The fire was brought under control at 2:12 a.m., Clark said.
During the battle, one firefighter injured his knee and was taken to Mercy Medical Center for treatment, Clark said.
The injury was minor and the firefighter was released from the hospital later in the morning, Clark said.
No other injuries to firefighters or civilians were reported, Clark said. The fire remains under investigation. No cause has been determined. No further information was immediately available.
