A firefighter and a resident were injured in a house fire in East Baltimore early Tuesday morning, though they were both expected to survive, officials said.

The fire broke out in a home in the 900 block of N. Streeper St. in the Madison-Eastend neighborhood at about 3:15 a.m. and was brought under control in about a half hour, fire department spokesman Ian Brennan said.
